John 6:21. The struggle against evil

Then they were willing to take him into the boat and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading

This is another miracle. One moment they were out on the stormy lake (Matthew tells us the storm abated immediately he entered the boat) the next they were by the shore. There is something eerie about the whole episode. Was it a demonic attack rather than a natural phenomenon? In any case Jesus disdains the danger. He marches out and rescues them. What was it John Bunyan said about Pilgrim? Hobgoblin, nor foul fiend, shall daunt his spirit; He knows he at the end shall life inherit. Unfashionable now - modern hymn books have changed the words - but we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms, says the apostle Paul.
