John 4:28-29 Conversion

Then leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”

The woman has been converted and her first reaction is to share her testimony. People will not listen to dreary talks about doctrine, but testimony has them all ears. If you want to share your faith, make sure that it is your faith you are sharing, not something got up out of a book.

People are impressed by the spectacular and the unusual. What was unusual about your conversion? How was it spectacular? For me it was the occasion, the unlikelihood of a scientist being converted, the coincidence of how it happened and the personal label attached to it. For this woman it was the omniscience of Jesus, his effrontery at speaking to a woman who was one of the enemy and his lack of shame or condemnation at her lifestyle
