Gleevec for CLL

Mcl-1 is one of those anti-apoptotic proteins that belong to the bcl-2 family. It may well be the most important in CLL. A paper from Liverpool has demonstrated that c-Abl is involved in the up-regulation of Mcl-1 in CLL which suggests that Imatinib (Gleevec) might have a role in its management.

Doc,

How long would you guess it will be before Gleevec is available for use by cll patients, if at all

I doubt that it will be. There are other TK inhibitors in front of it.
