Children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.
The description 'born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God' applies first and foremost to Jesus. Mary was astonished to be the chosen vessel; he husband-to-be was embarrassed and would have put her quietly away. No doubt there was shame in the family. But the Gospels tell us that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit.
If we are born again it is the same with us. Conceived by the Holy Spirit. What a blessing! Co-heirs with Christ! Because we were born in the same way. If we but believe in him.
